Think (Or Read…Or Snack…Or Lounge) Outside the Library

DSC_0533

The inside of the library is great. The smell of books new and old. The peace and quiet.* The technological doodads cranking out amazingness. Yes, everybody knows the inside of the library is the cat’s pajamas (or, if you’re more canine inclined, the dog’s nightgown). But what about the outside of the library? Yes, there’s an outside portion of the library now, and we guarantee it’s every bit as deserving of comparisons to feline sleepwear as the interior.

The library’s garden area has undergone a dramatic makeover and is now open for public use. This patio-style area features seating and tables, a fountain, plant life, and outlets to allow for comfortable and peaceful reading, snacking, laptop usage, and relaxing. This incorporation of park elements into the library would surely make Leslie Knope spit out her waffles in rage, but it’s sure to delight our patrons.

The next time you’re inside the library, consider going outside the library…to the patio, not the parking lot. Enjoy it for a while, then come back inside, then go outside…to the parking lot, not the patio. We know it’s great and all, but you can’t stay all night. Sheesh.

*Disclaimer: peace and quiet levels fluctuate wildly with time of day/year
