Adults, Embrace the Summer With Summer Reading-o

Summer is here. For kids, that means no school and more time for friends, camps, pools, and the buffet of wonders that is the library’s children’s summer reading program (learn all about it here). For adults, it means a different season in which to continue your workaday life…unless you’re a teacher, in which case you get to enjoy the same aforementioned perks as the kids, sans the children’s summer reading program. You might as well suffer through endless winter if you can’t have summer reading, but our adult summer reading program ensures you don’t have to live in such a bleak, Edgar-ish world.

This year, we’re hitting you with (or “gently presenting you with,” if you prefer not to be bludgeoned with fun) Summer Reading-o, a new reading game bursting with everything that’s great about bingo: hoppers, bingo ball drawing excitement, a ludicrously large bingo card, and, best of all, free stuff to win. The more you play and read throughout the summer, the more entries you’ll earn for drawings for five fabulous prizes: a Kindle Fire tablet, an Amazon gift card, a Half Price Books gift card, a Buffalo West gift card, and a Pulido’s gift card. As you play, in addition to experiencing the joys of diverse reading, you’ll also have opportunities to win coupons to local businesses.*

For full details on Summer Reading-o, including detailed instructions and rules, click here. To sign up, bring your age-12-or-older self to the Information Desk in the library. Embrace the summer.

*Hearty thanks to the Benbrook YMCA, Buffalo West, Chick-fil-a, Chicken Express, Jimmy John’s, Taco Casa, Three Parrots, and Q Speed Car Wash for donating prizes!
