Think Inside the Box During National Poetry Month

Poetry month is upon us

You’ll blink and then it will be gone, thus

I’m writing in poems

(those rhyming things, know ‘em?)

To show it appropriate fondness

A poet, I surely am not

Mad verse skills, I just haven’t got

But part of the “why”

Of the month is to try

So, like me, you should give it a shot

Poetry takes many forms

Like most things, there are rules and norms

To help if you need them

Though, you don’t have to heed them

In rebellion, great art’s often born

The Poetry Society brought

A neat box of poems that is fraught

With good stuff to read

But what it really needs

Is any share-worthy poems you’ve got!
