A phone call I received recently:
Me: Benbrook Library, how can I help you?
Patron: I have two books checked out from your library that are due tomorrow.
Me (cheerily-yet-expectantly, anticipating a renewal request): OK.
Patron: I’ll bring them back tomorrow. Unless I can’t make it there tomorrow; then I’ll bring them back the next day.
Me (amused, mentally dusting my hands together in celebration of successfully serving another patron): Sounds good!
Patron: OK, goodbye.
